CAPA College graduates are celebrated for the versatility of their performance ability and many of them honed their craft through Momentum Voice.
Showcasing the talents of ensemble and solo singers aged 16-19, Momentum Voice provides unique opportunities for talented young people to perform in some of the UK’s most cherished venues and alongside some of the country’s most celebrated performers.
In recent years, Momentum Voice have appeared alongside Britain’s Got Talent winners Collabro and West End superstar Kelly Ellis at Leeds City Varieties, performed annually in the Showcase Theatre at Move It at ExCeL London and been regular guests on BBC Radio.
Momentum Voice work closely with a number of local organisations to help support vulnerable communities in the North of England. In addition to performing regularly at care homes, hospices and hospitals across the region, it helped to form the Children in Care Choir through CHARGE (CAPA College’s celebrated outreach and education programme).
Momentum Voice have headlined the ‘Carols for Christmas Concert’ at Leeds Minster for the past two years and regularly host fundraising events to support worthwhile local charities, including Leeds Cancer Support, Leeds Cares, Maggie’s and Yorkshire Cancer Support.
From regular performance opportunities at the in-house Live @ Lobby 1867 sessions to acapella workshops with leading professionals to recording opportunities with Redbrick Studio, Momentum Voice provides its members with a unique platform to kickstart their professional singing careers. Alumni have gone on to take leading roles in the West End as well as achieve chart-topping hits and secure record contracts with leading national and international labels.
During the height of lockdown, CAPA College students and a team of professional artists worked remotely to produce a film which collated creative responses to the current protests surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement and racial inequality.
